Summary
Under the direction of the Director of OPEX, this position provides service, repair, and periodic maintenance or training for installed systems and equipment—primarily Dematic Integrated AutoStore and multiple integrated PLC conveyor systems. The primary objective is to ensure maximum system availability and performance.
Location: Lithia Springs, GA
Education
Graduate of a trade school or completion of a two-year associate degree program in mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical technology.
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum of two years' experience troubleshooting electromechanical and/or mechanical equipment. The successful candidate will have proven experience diagnosing and repairing automated equipment, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
Travel
Must be willing to travel on short notice and spend more than 20% of work time traveling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned.
• Participate in equipment trial runs, implementations, tests, repairs, and overhauls.
• Assist in training related to products and services.
• Perform maintenance on tools, test equipment, and systems.
• Maintain documentation of all inspections, maintenance, repair work, and failures.
• Respond to service calls and support product/equipment performance assessments.
• Recommend modifications or improvements based on field data.
• Identify and resolve moderately complex problems, referring more advanced issues as needed.
• Be available for on-call, weekend, and off-shift work as required.
• Write concise, complete trip reports within required timeframes per company procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in personal computers for word processing, databases, and communications.
• Understand computer hardware setup and software configuration.
• Possess hands-on experience troubleshooting PLCs.
AutoStore Essential Duties
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance inspections on AutoStore robots, following established checklists and documentation.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues on AutoStore robots.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform adjustments, repairs, or component replacements.
• Perform track shift initialization and execute manual track shifts using all required safety precautions.
• Safely remove non-functional robots from the grid.
• Retrieve logs from robot SD cards for troubleshooting.
• Add new robots to the system per documented procedures.
• Monitor robot performance and identify potential issues before downtime occurs.
• Respond to robot alarms and error messages, taking appropriate corrective actions.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate technical support team.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Must effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Must be able to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
Computer Skills
Proficiency with inventory software, order processing systems, warehouse management systems, and payroll systems. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, and hear. Frequent standing and use of hands/fingers to handle or feel are required. Occasional sitting and reaching with hands and arms occur. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
