Company Overview
Proclinical is seeking a QC Microbiologist to join our client — a global biopharmaceutical leader dedicated to developing and manufacturing life-saving plasma-derived medicines at their Broadmeadows facility. This short-term contract will support an upcoming project within their Quality Control Microbiology department, contributing directly to the manufacture of products that improve lives worldwide.
Role Overview
The QC Microbiologist will perform routine microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, and data review in compliance with GMP and regulatory standards. This position is ideal for someone with a Microbiology or Biotech background who enjoys hands-on laboratory work and thrives in a structured, high-throughput environment.
Team Size: ~30 within QC Microbiology
Duration: ~11 weeks (ASAP start | possible extension)
Hours: Mon–Fri (full-time); start between 8 am and 10 am, finish between 4 pm and 6 pm; occasional overtime/weekend work may be required
Location: Broadmeadows (VIC) – On-site only
Work Rights: Open to WHV candidates with appropriate experience
Key Responsibilities
Data entry and sample reconciliation
Reading and enumeration of microbial results
Performing Biological Indicator testing
Conducting Environmental Monitoring (viable and non-viable)
Maintaining and preparing laboratory equipment and facilities per approved procedures
General laboratory housekeeping and stock control
Using Microsoft Office, internal documentation systems and LIMS for data entry
Supporting continuous GMP compliance within QC Microbiology
Skills and Experience
Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical Sciences (required)
1–2 years’ experience in a regulated laboratory environment (e.g. pharmaceutical, biotech, plasma manufacturing or food testing)
Strong pipetting skills and aseptic technique
Familiarity with microbial enumeration methods and environmental monitoring
Sound understanding of GMP principles and data integrity requirements
Excellent attention to detail and teamwork skills
Flexible and reliable to meet project timelines
