Jackson, Mississippi based manufacturer of construction materials is seeking a qualified individual to assume the role of Technical Services/Quality Control Manager.  The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:  Ensure that the company is the “Supplier of Choice” for all customers by implementing and monitoring the quality control program. On a day-to-day basis the Technical Services Manager coordinates the efforts of Technical Services Representatives overseeing  production and troubleshooting emergent issues. Incumbent will be expected to provide strategic input into training of operations and delivery professional staff. This will include initial onboarding as well as continued check point and overall improvement training. A vital role for the Technical Services Manager is constant plant performance monitoring and improvement initiatives.

Safety is a major responsibility for this position and the incumbent is expected to set the example for all personnel by maintaining and utilizing Personal Protective Equipment, never putting themselves, others, or equipment in jeopardy, and acts as an advocate for safety at every opportunity.

In this role, the Technical Services Representative is expected to be a consummate business professional, who treats all personnel and customers with courtesy and respect.

Other job duties and responsibilities include the following:

Safety and Professionalism

Organization – Delegating responsibilities and supervising personnel to achieve high performance

Process Improvement – Analyzing information and processes and developing more effective or efficient processes and strategies

Quality Production Practices – Plant efficiency, batching sequence, recordkeeping, and testing

Auditing – Plant equipment, inventory, and process

Troubleshooting and Interaction – Resolving conflicts or complaints from customers

Optimizing Mix Designs – Review project specifications as required and advise appropriate designs

Training – Periodic and continuous training for all levels of the organization on Quality and processes

Other duties as assigned

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The Technical Services Manager works independently much of the time; however, the incumbent is accountable for maintaining constant communication with direct reports, peers and Director. The ability to interface with all levels of management and employees daily is paramount. A strong adherence to standards and an unwavering resolve to implement the procedures and standards as written is mandatory.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management and five years experience in construction material manufacturing or project management in a commercial construction environment, or high school degree and ten years experience as stated above.

Salary range is from $85,000.00 to 120,000 per year plus the following benefits including a company vehicle or vehicle allowance depending on preference.
